CAP (''Carrozzeria Arrigo Perini'') was founded in 1968 in [[Arco]], [[Trento]].

The ''Scoiattolo'' was a very basic open utility car in the same vein as the [[Savio]] ''Jungla''. The first incarnation of the ''Scoiattolo'' (which means 'squirrel') used [[Fiat 500]] mechanicals, a beam front axle with front disc brakes. The bodywork was very rudimentary and was composed of entirely flat surfaces. Later examples used a [[Seat 600]] (767cc) engine, prior to the launch of the [[Fiat 126]] engine. All models had 2-wheel drive, but in 1970 a ''Super Scoiattolo'' model with 4-wheel drive was launched.


Before its production of [[Fiat 500]] based off-road vehicles, CAP built 2 one-off vehicles based on [[Fiat 600]] mechanicals.
