Fial (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Legnano) had ambitious to build car, industrial and marine engines. 1906 they entered the automobile market and produced a single model in Legnano. It was the Type A 6/8 hp, of which a copy is at the Museo dell'Automobile in Turin, had a two-cylinder 1135 cc engine. Two years after the founding of Fial, in 1908, it was placed in liquidation after filing for bankruptcy. 1909 the company was taken over by Rosa & Ferrario and car production was discontinued by the new owners.
Even today, some collectors of vintage cars have to have a model of this car. It was even depicted on a postage stamp of the country of Equatorial Guinea.
