Greg Biffle (born December 23, 1969 in Vancouver, Washington) is a NASCAR Nextel Cup driver. He now lives in North Carolina.
He was initially recommended to Jack Roush by former racer and present broadcaster Benny Parsons. Parsons had met him by chance and was impressed by the scrappy independent driver who had an engineering degree.
Biffle currently drives the number sixteen Post-It/National Guard Ford for the Roush Racing team. Other one-race primary sponsors have included Jackson Hewitt Tax Services, Subway, Charter Communications and Prism Guard Shield. Biffle has 100 Nextel Cup starts and 8 wins. Grainger was his prior sponsor in the #16 car as well as with the #60 in the Busch Series.
Biffle started competing in NASCAR's top circuit in 2003, having a generally mediocre season that resulted in a 20th place points finish. Though he finished second to Jamie McMurray for Raybestos Rookie of the Year, Biffle's debut season did see him earn his first win at Daytona International Speedway. Greg Biffle showed steady improvement over the 2004 season as he earned two more race wins en route to a 17th place finish in the points. 2005 has proved to be Biffle's breakout season. He finished the season tied with teammate Carl Edwards for second in the Nascar Nextel Cup championship, thirty-five points behind champion Tony Stewart. Biffle wins the tie-breaker for second, due to his six race victories, the most of any driver in the Nextel Cup in the 2005 season.
He is noted as a hard charger and seems to be most successful at the fastest tracks.
Greg also has a foundation in his name that he and his long time girlfriend Nicole Lunders manage. Their primary goal is to create awareness and serve as an advocate to improve the well-being of animals by engaging the power and passion of the motorsports industry. The foundation donates to local Humane Societies, no-kill animal shelters, spay and neuter clinics and the Animal Adoption League.
