Andrew Pitt (motorcycle racer)
Andrew Pitt hails from New South Wales, Australia, and is a motorcycle racer. He was runner-up in the Australia Superbike championship in 1999, before entering the World Supersport title in 2000, winning this in 2001 and almost again in 2002. By this point he was involved in Kawasaki's first MotoGP bike, and took his (and Kawasaki's) first points before their first full season in 2003. He matched experienced team-mate Garry McCoy, but neither was retained after an uncompetitive year. He made occasional appearances for Moriwaki in 2004 as part of their development programme, but left in 2005 as Yamaha offered him a World Superbike ride. Pitt scored his maiden World Superbike Championship win at the Misano circuit in Italy in June 2006. At the end of the 2006 season, he lost his seat on the yamaha France R1 to fellow Australian and 2005 Superbike World Champion, Troy Corser.
